Poetic Justice <3

Every second, every minute, man I swear that she can get it
Say if you a bad chic put your hands up high, hands up high, hands up high
Tell ‘em dim the lights down right now, put me in the mood
I’m talking ‘bout dark room, perfume
Go, go!

[Verse 1: Kendrick Lamar]
I recognize your fragrance (hol’ up!)
You ain’t never gotta say shhh (woo!)
And I know your taste is
A little bit (mmm) high maintenance (ooh)
Everybody else basic
You live life on an everyday basis
With poetic justice, poetic justice
If I told you that a flower bloomed in a dark room, would you trust it?
I mean write poems in these songs dedicated to you
And you’re in the mood for empathy, theres blood in my pen
Better yet when your friends and them
I really wanna know you all
I really wanna show you off
Fuck that, pour up plenty of champagne
Cold nights when you curse this name
You called up your girlfriends and
Y’all curled in that little bitty range I heard that
She wanna go and party, She wanna go and party
Nigga don’t approach her with that Atari
Nigga that ain’t good game, homie, sorry
They say conversation, rule a nation, I can tell
But I can never right my wrongs
‘less I write it down for real, P.S

[Hook x2: Kendrick Lamar]
You can get it, you can get it
You can get it, you can get it
And I know just know just know just know just know just
What you want, Poetic Justice, put it in a song

[Verse 2: Drake]
I really hope you play this
Cause ol’ girl you test my patience
With all these seductive photographs and all these one off vacations
You’ve been taken
Clearly a lot for me to take in
It don’t make sense
Young East African Girl, you too busy fucking with your other man
I was trying to put you on game, put you on a plane
Take you and your mama to the motherland
I could do it, maybe one day
When you figure out you’re gonna need someone
When you figure out it’s all right here in the city
And you don’t run from where we come from
That sound like Poetic Justice, Poetic Justice
You were so new to this life but  you got adjusted
I mean I write poems in these songs, dedicated to the fun sex
Your natural hair and your soft skin, and your big ass in that sundress (ooh!)
Good God, what you doing that walk for?
When I see that thing move, I just wish we would fight less and we would talk more
And they say communication saves relations, I can tell
But I can never right my wrongs unless I write them down for real
P.S…

[Hook]

[Verse 3 : Kendrick Lamar]
Every time I write these words they become a taboo
Making sure my punctuation curve
Every letter is true
Living my life in the margin and that metaphor was proof
I’m talking poetic justice, poetic justice
If I told you that a flower bloomed in a dark room, would you trust it?
I mean you need to hear this
Love is not just a verb, It’s you looking in the mirror
Love is not just a verb, It’s you looking poor maybe
Call me crazy, We can both be insane
A fatal attraction is common
And what we have common is pain
I mean you need to hear this
Love is not just a verb and I can see power steering
Sex drive when you swerve, I want that interference
It’s coherent, I can hear it, mmhmm
That’s your heartbeat
It either caught me or it called me, mmhmm
Breathe slow and you’ll find gold mines in these lines
Sincerely, yours truly
And right before you go blind
P.S…..

[Hook]

politics

let me get this straight we are asking one man and a few other people to tell us the law of the land and how we should live. Now last time I checked it was way more citizens than representatives… And then we’re mad bc they’re not saying what we want to hear so we grumble. Instead contacting our local representatives (bc I mean we did pick them to represent us) we just keep gunning the President oh makes since 0_o my truth is I will vote for President Obama bc I feel like if one day we did decide to force our representatives to speak on our behalf he would listen… unfortunately I don’t feel like Romney will I feel as though he thinks he knows whats best instead of asking us what’s best . What I like about President Obama is he confident yet humble. He recognizes he was chosen for the position and he is doing the best he can to improve things. The fact that we aren’t content with the good he has done is sad for us. For those who dont like him rather an enemy you know then one you dont .

summing up the problem…

…. I know that this person is a message from God letting me know that even if he decided to give me the man that’s destined for me right now I wouldn’t be ready :( but hey i want the long haul not a u-haul lol

letter to my ex’s…..

Sometimes I wonder… Do you
Even recognize the woman
That’s standing in front of you
Sometimes I wonder… Do you
Even care or realize why I took care of you
‘Cuz you’re my heart
You are my soul
You’re my other half
Without you I can not be whole baby
So far apart
I just don’t know
What drove us apart in the first place
Now I know why
These tears I cry… sure won’t be the last
They will not be the last… no
This pain inside… never seems to pass
It never seems to pass… me by
So I thank you
Said I thank you
Yes I thank you
For making me a woman
Sometimes I wonder… could she be
More of a woman to you thank you were a man to me
Sometime I wonder… why me
I’m here miserable while you’re out living your fantasies
And didn’t care
‘Cuz you’re my heart
You are my soul
You’re my other half
Without you I can not be whole baby
So far apart
I just don’t know
What drove us apart in the first place
Now I know baby why
These tears I cry… sure won’t be the last
They will not be the last… no
This pain inside… never seems to pass
It never seems to pass… me by
So I thank you
Said I thank you
Yes I thank you
For making me a woman
One thing I learned in life
We all gotta go through to survive
I hope she’s happy
‘Cuz you’re the chapter that I’ll be closing
Hope you’re happy
‘Cuz once my door closes it won’t be open
These tears I cry… sure won’t be the last
They will not be the last… no
This pain inside… never seems to pass
It never seems to pass… me by
So I thank you
Said I thank you
Yes I thank you
For making me a woman

Love rain - Jill Scott

Love rain down on me,on me,down on me [4x]

Met him on a thursday, sunny afternoon
Cumulus clouds, 84 degrees
He was brown,deep
Said he wanted to talk about my mission
Listen to my past lives (Word?)
Took me on long walks to places where butterflies rest easy
Talked about Moses and Mumia
Reparations, blue colors, memories of shell topped adidas
He was fresh,like summer peaches
Sweet on my mind like block parties and penny candy
Us was nice and warm,no jacket,no umbrella, just warm
At night we would watch the stars
And he would pyhsically give me each and every one
I felt like cayenne pepper,red,hot,spicy
I felt Dizzy, Sonya, heaven, and Miles between my thighs
Better than love,we made delicious
He me had,had me he
He made me tongue tied
I could hear his rhythm in my thoughts
I was his sharp, his horn section
His boom and his bip
And he was my love

Love rain down on me,on me,down on me

The rain was fallin and,and slowly and sweetly and stinging my eyes
And I could not see that he became my voodoo priest
And I was his faithful concubine
Wide open, wide, loose like bowels after collard greens
The mistake was made
Love slipped from my lips
Dripped down my chin and landed in his lap
And us became new
Now me non-clairvoyant and in love
Made the coochie easy and the obvious invisible
The rain was falling
And I couldn’t see the season changing
And the vibe slipping off it’s axis
Our beautiful melody became wildly staccato
The rain was falling and I could not see
That I was to be plowed and sowed and fertilized
And left to drown in his sunny afternoon
Cumulus clouds,84 degrees,melody

Love rain down on me,on me,down on me [2x]

[Mos Def]
In stretched my arms towards the sky like blades of tall grass
The sun beat in between my shoulders like carnival drums
I sat still in hopes that it would help my wings grow
So then I would really be fly
And then she arrived
Like day break inside a railway tunnel
Like the new moon, like a diamond in the mines
Like high noon to a drunkard, sudden
She made my heart beat in a now-now time signature
Her skinny canvas for ultarviolet brushstrokes
She was the sun’s painting
She was a deep cognac color
Her eyes sparkled like lights along the new city
She lips pursed as if her breath was too sweet
And full for her mouth to hold
I said,”You are beautiful,distress of mathematics.”
I said,”For you, I would peel open the clouds like new fruit.”
And give you lightning and thunder as dowry
I would make the sky shed all of its stars like rain
I would clasp the constellations around your waist
And I would make the heavens your cape
And they would be please to cover you
They would be pleased to cover you
May I please,cover you,please.
